Youthmovies announce 2026 reunion concerts

The long-dormant British rock group will helm standalone headline performances in Oxford and London surrounding a previously confirmed appearance at the forthcoming edition of Somerset’s ArcTanGent Festival.

Youthmovies have announced two reunion concerts to take place in 2026.

Today the long-dormant British rock group have revealed plans for two standalone headline concerts that will be held in their hometown of Oxford on 20th August and London on 3rd October, bookending a previously confirmed appearance at the forthcoming edition of Somerset’s ArcTanGent Festival. The band’s newly mapped performances will mark their first in almost ten years, having regrouped in a live setting on only two prior occasions since commencing a lengthy hiatus in 2010. Tickets for both concerts will be available to purchase from 16th July.

Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies – later shortened to Youthmovies – formed in 2002 and became an influential, fringe-probing fixture of England’s independent musical landscape during their original eight-year tenure. Together the quintet deftly explored aspects of drone, krautrock, math rock, post-rock and more across several EPs and a solitary full-length studio album whilst sharing stages with such kindred spirits as Cats And Cats And Cats, The Edmund Fitzgerald, Foals (with whom singer-guitarist Andrew Mears was also a founding member), iForward, Russia!, Hope Of The States, Polaris and 65daysofstatic.
