Music Is Victory Over Time arrives on November 10th.

Sunwatchers have announced the release of their fifth album.
Music Is Victory Over Time is scheduled for arrival on November 10th and marks the New York City quartet’s first project to release in three years, signalling the end of a period of dormancy that began in 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sessions for the forthcoming album were tracked in January 2023 at collaborator and kindred spirit John Dwyer’s newly established Los Angeles recording facility Discount Mirrors with general assistance provided by the Osees frontman and engineering duties helmed by Eric Bauer.
Speaking of the album’s title guitarist Jim McHugh elaborates in a press release
“The notion resonated with our individual and communal experiences of loss, trauma, stasis, and frustration since 2020, our three-year semi-silence as a band relative to our previous characteristic prolificacy, and our progress, projects, and evolution since.”
A blistering reintroduction to the praised psych rock quartet’s infectious brand of scorched earth noise, hear album opener ‘World People’ in advance below.
Music Is Victory Over Time releases on November 10th via Trouble In Mind Records. Pre-order the album on black and ‘kool-aid sunflare’ vinyl variants here.
