Kirin J Callinan, Babymorocco and more are onboarded to reconstruct songs from the duo’s Mercury Prize-nominated debut LP.
Rising London duo Jockstrap have announced the release of a new album of remixes.
I<3UQTINVU (I Love You Cutie, I Envy You) is set for release on November 3rd and sees producer Taylor Skye reconstruct a number of songs from the group’s critically acclaimed and Mercury Prize-nominated debut album I Love You Jennifer B with guest contributions from Kirin J Callinan, Babymorocco, Ian Starr and more. The project’s first preview entitled ‘Red Eye’ is available to stream now.
Skye explains of the looming project’s creation,
“Some of these remixes are almost three years old and some are only six months old. I made most of them really quickly, in a day or so. It keeps me sane to do this whilst mixing the album. I don’t really remember making them. It’s like eating too much and then throwing up and this is what comes out. It’s a weird feeling but also really fun. I felt very happy making some of this music and live it will be quite the show.”
This month also sees Jockstrap return to the road to commence an international tour itinerary that will traverse cities throughout the USA and Europe. The duo’s 2023 tour schedule will conclude with two performances at London’s famed Barbican Centre. Find Jockstrap’s forthcoming tour schedule here.
