Chris Dave masterfully navigates through the sounds of past decades for NPR’s Tiny Desk

From immersive psychedelia to drunken Dilla-style rhythms.

When not providing stellar, off-kilter chops for the likes of D’Angelo, Maxwell and Kendrick Lamar, Chris Dave fronts his own musical collective dubbed the Drumhedz.

Positioned from his towering, unorthodox drum kit that comprises hammered and spiralling cymbals alongside bongos, tambourines and more traditional components, Dave recently led his group through a live performance for Washington radio station NPR’s famed Tiny Desk Series.
