London’s KOKOROKO have shared a new single.
‘Carry Me Home’ follows the release of the band’s well-received debut EP in 2019, which catapulted its eight members in to the line of a global audience’s vision through afrobeat-inspired horn arrangements and dexterous, skeletal guitar lines bearing the ability to evoke feelings of romance, ecstasy and lament in equal measure.
Similarly to its predecessors the band’s new effort deploys an energy reminiscent of the bustling capital city in which they reside, coursing with a fervent rhythmic pulse as melodic lines and solos rein free to soar above.
Fans of Fela Kuti, Ebo Taylor, Peter King et al take note and dial in below.
Expanding on their existing 2020 tour schedule which includes appearances at SXSW, Love Supreme and The Cape Town International Jazz Festival, KOKOROKO have revealed a slew of North American dates due to unfold in June.
