The sequestered American indie rock fixtures join a programme also featuring Jeff Tweedy, Weyes Blood, Bill Frisell, Jeff Parker ETA IVtet, Leenalchi, Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s Efrim Manuel Menuck and more.
Big Ears Festival have announced a new wave of acts recruited to the programme for their approaching 2027 edition.
The Roots, Shabaka Hutchings, Zoh Amba and most notably Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox and Lockett Pundt feature amongst the latest round of names confirmed to appear across the celebrated Knoxville, Tennessee multi-day event’s reprisal taking place in April of next year. The event will mark the first time that Cox and Pundt have performed on-stage together since concluding the touring cycle that accompanied the release of Deerhunter’s eighth studio album Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared? in 2019. Meanwhile this year has also seen Cox revive his beloved and similarly long-dormant Atlas Sound solo moniker with recent and forthcoming live performances at Philadelphia’s Making Time Festival and Barcelona’s Primavera Sound.
Other names set to appear at Big Ears Festival’s 2027 edition include Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, Weyes Blood, Animal Collective’s Avey Tare, Beauty Pill, Bedouine, John Carroll Kirby, Bill Frisell, Horse Lords, Ida, Jeff Parker ETA IVtet, Leenalchi, caroline’s Jasper Llewellyn, Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s Efrim Manuel Menuck, Mount Eerie, My New Band Believe, Fabiano do Nascimento and Midori Takada.
