The prodigious French-American jazz duo’s WHO ASKED? arrives on 31st July.
DOMi & JD Beck have announced the release of a new album.
WHO ASKED? is scheduled for release on 31st July through Anderson .Paak’s APESHIT imprint and Blue Note Records, and will mark the prodigious French-American jazz duo’s second full-length album to date. Following on from the successes of 2022’s Grammy-nominated NOT TiGHT, the group’s sophomore outing comprises fifteen songs and is noted to showcase a reframing of their dizzying strain of jazz through an orchestral lens bolstered by accompaniment from clarinetists Bence Bubreg and Andrea Caputo, bassoonist Alex Rosales García, violinist Leah Zeger Gonzalez, horn player Dylan Skye Hart, oboist Luca Ortolani and flutist Sierra Schmeltzer. Lauded American drummer and producer Zach Hill of Death Grips and Hella fame is also credited as a sound designer across twelve of the album’s songs.
