Shabaka Hutchings has shared a new single lifted from his forthcoming and recently announced debut solo album Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace.

Entitled ‘I’ll Do Whatever You Want’, the London-based composer, bandleader and multi-instrumentalist’s newest offering is a sprawling and meditative affair that slowly unfurls over eight minutes bolstered by the efforts an all star supporting cast. Contributors to the single include André 3000 on Teotihuacan drone flute, Floating Points on synthesizers and vibraphone, Esperanza Spalding and Tom Herbert on bass, Dave Okumu on guitar, Marcus Gilmore on drums, Carlos Niño on percussion and ambient music pioneer Laraaji providing wordless vocal embellishments.

Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace will mark Hutchings’ debut solo album following onward from 2022’s Afrikan Culture EP and a formal retirement from playing the saxophone that placed associated projects The Ancestors, The Comet Is Coming and Sons Of Kemet on hiatus. Other contributors to the forthcoming album include Armand Hammer’s Elucid and Lianne La Havas.
