The Purple Bobcat Next to River Tour kicks off in November.

Following six years of exclusively releasing music through indie rock institution Captured Tracks, Mac DeMarco has announced the launch of his own record label. The aptly titled ‘Mac’s Record Label’ will receive global distribution by Universal subsidiary Caroline, though news on the label’s first release currently remains under wraps.
DeMarco modestly announced the grandiose step forward in his musical career in the following statement:
“Hi, it’s Mac. We’re starting a record label; it’s called “Mac’s Record Label.” My friend Jen who plays drums in The Courtneys gave me the name. Also there are more shows.”
And shows there are… Mac will embark upon the more imaginatively titled Purple Bobcat Next to River Tour in November, which the singer-songwriter acknowledges as his first ever solo tour.
The new solo tour itinerary begins on the heels of DeMarco’s existing run of full-band performances in the U.S. and Europe this Autumn. The stint is kicked off by a headlining set at Tropicalia Festival in Long Beach, where he joins a lineup featuring Morrissey, Cardi B, Toro Y Moi, Homeshake and more.
