Esteemed outdoor brand Woolrich’s upcoming Autumn/Winter campaign will be curated by musicians who are “at the very heart of American culture,” the company stated on Monday evening.

Up first in the revolving lineup? Ms. Lauryn Hill, who is set to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill this year by embarking upon an extensive world tour.

“Woolrich: American Soul since 1830” sees Hill both designing selected garments and in front of the lens, starring in the brand’s campaign. The collaboration marks the founding Fugees member’s first official foray in to the fashion world.

In the campaign, shot and filmed by Jack Davidson, Hill heads through the streets of Harlem adorned in her interpretations of the brand’s Silverton Coat and Arctic Parka, before arriving at the Apollo Theatre where she performs a stripped rendition of ‘Ex-Factor’.

Andrea Canè, creative director of Woolrich said the following in the brand’s press release,

“The opportunity to work with Ms. Hill was the perfect start to our ongoing ‘American Soul’ project, highlighting Woolrich’s American heritage. We wanted Ms. Hill to bring her unique artistic eye to the product and DNA of the brand so we invited her to put her own spin on these classic Woolrich styles, reflecting her interpretation of ‘American Soul.”
