A collaborative single from the long-running Scottish post-rock band and American punk icon Iggy Pop leads the announcement.
Mogwai have announced the release of a new album.
Happy Tears is aligned for arrival through the long-running Scottish post-rock band’s own Rock Action Records imprint on 8th January and will collect highlights, rarities and previously unreleased materials spanning the quartet’s full three-decade career. Notable highlights amongst the newly detailed compilation album’s track list include a collaborative single with American punk icon Iggy Pop entitled ‘Underground’ and ‘Brand New Paths To Helicon 1’, a reworking of the band’s 1997 single featuring accompaniment from the Budapest Art Orchestra and orchestration by Stars Of The Lid’s Adam Wiltzie. The forthcoming release will be available to purchase as a standard CD and 2LP edition or an expanded edition featuring a further thirteen recordings.
