British singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Sam Eastgate has announced the release of a new EP under his widely praised LA Priest moniker.
La Fusion is scheduled for release on May 3rd, led by the newly premiered lead single ‘City Warm Heart’ and aligning with a recently announced European tour itinerary that will see Eastgate perform live in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Manchester, London and more. Written during the latter days of a tenure spent living in the Costa Rican jungle – which also yielded the critically acclaimed 2023 full-length album Fase Luna – and subsequently recorded in his Welsh home studio, the Late Of The Pier alumnus muses of his looming release
“You cannot blend fusion with something else. Fusion itself is the blending of realities. These are ideas I couldn’t have recorded in the jungle. Maybe they are metropolis songs. I took ideas written outside looking inward and finished them inside thinking outward.”
Newly premiered single ‘City Warm Heart’ leads the announcement of La Fusion, forging furthermore in to Eastgate’s deft assemblage of warbled, funk-leaning guitars and astral, home-brewed hardware synthesis textures.
