Iggy Pop and legendary jazz organist Dr. Lonnie Smith team for new cover

From the latter’s forthcoming Blue Note release Breathe.

Punk luminary Iggy Pop and legendary Hammond B-3 organist Dr. Lonnie Smith have teamed for a cover of Donovan’s 1966 hit ‘Sunshine Superman’.

The rendition is set to appear on Smith’s forthcoming album Breathe which will arrive on March 26th via venerable jazz label Blue Note. The forthcoming release serves as a companion album to Smith’s 2018 LP All in My Mind, with the majority of its tracks recorded in 2017 during Smith’s 75th birthday celebrations at New York City music venue the Jazz Standard.
