The Jack Cooper-led group’s The Heat Warps will arrive in August.

Modern Nature have announced the release of a new album.
The Heat Warps is scheduled for release through Bella Union on August 29th and will mark the Jack Cooper-led quartet’s fourth full-length album to date following on from 2023’s decorated No Fixed Point In Space. The group’s latest effort is noted as being resultant of a notable change in creative approach, departing from the free-form, open-ended nature of their recent prior works in favour of more clearly defined structures led by the interlocking dual guitar narrative of Cooper and new recruit Tara Cunningham as deftly showcased within the kraut-flecked new single ‘Pharoah’.
In support of the album’s approaching release today Modern Nature have also shared their plans to embark on tours of the UK and the USA’s West Coast this year, respectively commencing in September and December. Tickets for all newly announced concerts are on sale now and available to purchase here.
Cooper shares,
“I’ve always been drawn to bands where two guitarists work as a unit to move around and colour the rhythm section. I’d been listening to the demos Television did with Brian Eno in the day and then that night I played with Tara for the first time at an improvised music show. We have a very similar approach to the guitar and that extends to the way we sing, so it gives the music an interesting balance.”
