Madlib and Your Old Droog have announced the release of a collaborative album.
A formidable congregation joining two of contemporary hip-hop’s most prolific and vital components, Madlib and Your Old Droog’s creative union was first sewn in 2021 and has since yielded a number of standalone singles including 2022’s ‘The Return Of Sasquatch’ and 2024’s Black Thought-featuring ‘Reekyod’ before leading to the realisation of a full-length album under the pseudonym Droogie Otis. With an approximate release window of Summer 2025 and title options still in contention wider details of the pair’s project currently remain scarce, however its leading single ‘Everything Designed’ has premiered today and sets a high benchmark whilst bolstered by a guest appearance from Boldy James.
Your Old Droog shares of the looming album,
“We do it because we love it regardless of what’s going on in our lives. There’s always been that approach where he’s hit me multiple times like, ‘Yo, drop this joint,’ and the song will come out that week or the following week. The business comes after. We’re centered around the art.”
