Lync and Pedro The Lion team for split 7” single

Hear singer-songwriter David Bazan’s take on the Olympia, Washington post-hardcore trio’s 1994 album opener ‘B’ now.

Lync and Pedro The Lion have joined forces for a new collaborative vinyl release.

Following onward from a recent reissue of Lync’s solitary full-length album These Are Not Fall Colors, a new 7” split single helmed by Suicide Squeeze Records will pair a haunting acoustic rendition of the aforementioned 1994 cult long-player’s opening statement ‘B’ served by Pedro The Lion singer-songwriter David Bazan with the urgent and unflinching original recording.

Bazan shares of his relationship with the short-lived Olympia post-hardcore trio’s music,

“Lync struck me as so mysterious and infectious when I first listened in the 90s, three humans writing and playing at the edge of their collective consciousness, and listening again now, that feeling has grown exponentially. I’m beyond honored to contribute to this single release.”

Lync’s James Bertram adds

“I’m not sure if there are many covers of Lync songs out there. Sam’s vocals shred, and the push/pull of the music can blur together at times, so I imagine it’s difficult to land on an approach. David’s version of this track is a great take, a really awesome minimal contrast to the original and so cool to hear. It’s flattering to be able to share a split release with PTL all these years later, and I think Sam would love it too.”
