Meshell Ndegeocello has been announced as the curator of a new album paying homage to late American jazz pianist and bandleader Sun Ra.
Red Hot & Ra: The Magic City is scheduled for release on April 12th and marks the latest instalment in an ongoing series of tribute albums reinterpreting works from the prolific jazz innovator instigated by non-profit Red Hot Organisation. Contributors to the forthcoming release include Hector Castillo, Pink Siifu, Deantoni Parks, Stuart Bogie and Sun Ra Arkestra’s own Marshall Allen amongst others.
