Hear the Perth band’s ‘Neon River’ now.

Pond have shared a new single and announced plans to embark upon a European tour in 2024.
‘Neon River’ marks the Australian psych rock outfit’s first new music to surface in three years, following onward from the release of their flamboyant and critically acclaimed ninth studio album 9 in 2021. During downtime from the band 2023 saw singer-guitarist Nicholas Allbrook release a new solo album entitled Manganese, whilst multi-instrumentalist Jay Watson released a sixth solo album under his longstanding GUM moniker entitled Saturnia the same year.
Regrouped and ushering in a new chapter, the band mused of their newly released single in a statement
“This is a full on Pond Gemini song… Kinda tumbles through bucolic Gum (Jay Watson) larping, into Nick (Allbrook) in maximum Aerosmith spandex mode, with a brief detour into some kind of shoegaze instrumental section. The chorus is about the hollow half dead riverside shuffle of so many pre dawns of years gone by.”
Aligning with the release of ‘Neon River’, a newly announced European tour schedule unfolding through September and October is set to see the Perth band perform live in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and more. Tickets for all dates on the tour will be available for purchase from February 2nd. Find yours here.
