Shabaka Hutchings has announced plans to embark upon a European tour in 2024.
Commencing in early May, the revered London multi-instrumentalist’s itinerary is set to comprise six dates spanning performances in Amsterdam, Liége, Paris, Berlin and London ahead of a previously confirmed appearance at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound. The newly announced tour will mark Hutchings’ first live concerts in European countries since entering a hiatus from playing the saxophone and placing priority over his recent studies of flutes including the Japanese shakuhachi.
Hutchings released his debut solo EP Afrikan Culture in 2022 following on from longstanding tenures writing and performing with The Comet Is Coming, Sons Of Kemet and Shabaka And The Ancestors.
