BADBADNOTGOOD’s Chester Hansen shares new solo recordings

Likeness of a Man/Would You Love Me releases under Hansen’s Fieldrow moniker.

Canadian songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chester Hansen has shared two new songs crafted under his Fieldrow solo moniker.

Established and revered for his longstanding role helming bass guitar as a co-founding member of BADBADNOTGOOD, Hansen’s Grammy Award winning resumé with the Toronto outfit has spanned five full-length albums and collaboration within recorded and live settings with Earl Sweatshirt, Frank Ocean, Ghostface Killah, Kendrick Lamar, MF DOOM and Thundercat amongst others.

Between his ongoing duties with BADBADNOTGOOD Hansen first debuted his burgeoning Fieldrow guise in 2023, outlining a unique and compelling stylistic counterpoint to the hip-hop and jazz-oriented band work that first garnered him critical acclaim. Forging furthermore in to his solo singer-songwriter practice, the newly released Likeness of a Man/Would You Love Me exhibits a deft command of infectious psychedelic pop sensibilities that recall the orbit of Ariel Pink, Chris Cohen, Jay Watson’s GUM, the late Sam Mehran et al.
