Praised London art rock outfit Black Country, New Road have featured as the latest guests to appear in Amoeba’s infamous What’s In My Bag? video series.
Visiting the famed Californian record store chain’s Hollywood outpost in the midst of a recent North American tour schedule, the sextet reflected on the influence of a typically varied collection of works including albums from the likes of King Crimson, Modest Mouse, Joanna Newsom, Van Dyke Parks and Arthur Russell. Amongst takeaways from the band’s conversation, drummer Charlie Wayne reveals that Black Country, New Road initially gave consideration to being named Tower Of Meaning in homage to the aforementioned Russell’s 1983 album of the same name.
Black Country, New Road’s last studio album Ants From Up There released to critical acclaim in 2022, succeeded by the release of a live album entitled Live At Bush Hall released in February of this year.
