The math rock linchpin’s first album in a decade was recorded in collaboration with Arcade Fire’s Jeremy Gara.

New York singer-songwriter and guitarist Marnie Stern has returned with the release of her fifth album.
The Comeback Kid marks the praised and singular finger-tapping guitar slinger’s first album of new music to release in a decade, succeeding 2013’s The Chronicles Of Marnia and a lengthy subsequent tenure serving as a member of the 8G house band for NBC’s Late Night With Seth Meyers. Recorded in collaboration with Jeremy Gara of Arcade Fire, the newly released album also marks Stern’s inaugural release as part of Indianapolis imprint Joyful Noise Recordings’ roster where she joins such left-of-field kindred spirits as Deerhoof and No Age.
Aligning with the release of The Comeback Kid Stern will helm a release show at New York City’s Knitting Factory, Baker Falls on November 4th. Find ticket information here.
A bold and inspired return that seamlessly steps back in to the blistering, off-kilter domain that first garnered Stern infamy within her technical domain, stream The Comeback Kid below.
