Death Cab For Cutie alumnus Chris Walla shares new EP

2002 ep comprises songs recorded by the indie rock fixture during the time between The Photo Album and Transatlanticism.

American songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Chris Walla has shared a new EP of previously unreleased music.

Fittingly entitled 2002 ep, the newly released project comprises three songs written by the Death Cab For Cutie alumnus during the time between his former band’s landmark albums The Photo Album and Transatlanticism. Recording sessions for the project took place at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco and The Hall of Justice in Seattle with Walla playing all instruments except the drums, which were helmed by original Death Cab for Cutie drummer Nathan Good.

Walla states of the release in an accompanying blurb,

“imposter syndrome is a rat gnawing at your wires and when they short circuit your judgment, you do things like, for example, sit on pretty respectable and finished work for, say, twenty or so years. anyway here’s an ep i made between the photo album and transatlanticism. i am finally proud of it and i hope you enjoy it.”
