Universal Flames releases through Sonic Cathedral in October.

English musician Simon Scott – best known and revered for his role as the longstanding drummer of shoegaze giants Slowdive – has launched a new project named Three Quarter Skies. The outfit’s debut EP entitled Universal Flames is scheduled for release in October and centres around recordings captured during a live performance at London music venue Folklore.
Teaming with Sonic Cathedral for the EP’s forthcoming release, Three Quarter Skies join a roster that includes the likes of Lorelle Meets The Obsolete, Mildred Maude, XAM Duo and Dummy.
Speaking of his new creative outlet Scott explains
“I’d worked on a handful of songs over the course of last year that didn’t really fit Slowdive, so I ‘organically’ debuted them at a club in London called Folklore after a last-minute invite to jump up onstage and play some music,” says Simon. “I’d not even finished the lyrics for each track, but the journey to the gig became ingrained in the song ‘On Fire’ – which has ended up being our debut single – after a burning building in Old Street held me up and I scribbled the words down in the back of my taxi.”
