The Jesus And Mary Chain announce twenty-fifth anniversary reissue of Munki

Physical editions of the album will include several coloured vinyl variants.

Venerated Scottish rock group The Jesus And Mary Chain have announced plans to embark upon a reissue campaign of their decorated sixth album Munki to celebrate the project’s twenty-fifth anniversary.

Released in 1998 through Sub Pop and Creation Records, Munki featured guest contributions from Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval and Linda Reid, and would ultimately mark the final musical statement to materialise from the band before embarking upon a hiatus that lasted almost ten years. The album’s forthcoming reissue will be presented on CD and gatefold double LP format featuring remastered audio courtesy of Pete Maher. Vinyl editions will include splatter, red/blue, clear and black colour variants.

The Jesus And Mary Chain’s last full-length studio album Damage and Joy released in 2017. In the time since their critically acclaimed comeback the band have maintained an active tour schedule – including notable appearances at the likes of Glastonbury Festival and Primavera Sound – and recently released a live album entitled Sunset 666 (Live at Hollywood Palladium).

Munki rereleases on October 20th via Fuzz Club. Pre-order the album on CD and vinyl here.
