Glasgow composer and multi-instrumentalist Loris S. Sarid announces new album

A Tiny Reminder releases on May 26th through Portland, Oregon imprint Moon Glyph.

Loris S. Sarid has announced the release of a new album.

A Tiny Reminder is scheduled for release on May 26th through Moon Glyph and marks Sarid’s second project to release in partnership with the decorated Portland imprint. Written as a gift for a friend and comprising a suite of structures said to be largely guided by guitar, clarinet and field recordings, early previews of the forthcoming album demonstrate a furthering of the Glasgow composer and multi-instrumentalist’s masterful exploration of the intersection between electronic and acoustic sound, as previously seen and praised within 2020’s Music For Tomato Plants and 2022’s Where The Round Things Live.

Loris explains of A Tiny Reminder,

“I made this music about a year ago as a gift for someone I met at that time. People have this mysterious power to inspire others or to be inspired, often bringing to the table more than what they’re carrying, or receiving more than what is meant to be given. It’s something I wanted to celebrate making this album, it’s a force I don’t understand because it’s not subject to the vocabulary of logic, and exists only in proportion to how much we expose ourselves to it. Regardless of the form these connections take, some pleasant others not, it’s a waste to avoid them and turn away the gift they carry, and making music is the only thing that really makes me enjoy not understanding something.”
