Leland Whitty has announced the release of his debut solo album.
Anyhow is scheduled for arrival on December 9th and marks the Canadian multi-instrumentalist’s first full-length solo venture, forging a lone creative path in tandem with his longstanding role as the guitarist and saxophonist of award-winning Toronto jazz collective BADBADNOTGOOD. The forthcoming album takes in seven songs written and arranged by Whitty with creative contributions from Lowell Whitty, Matthew Tavares, Alex Sowinski and Chester Hansen.
‘Awake’ leads the announcement of Anyhow, its rich and cinematic palette deftly recalling a broad spectrum of sound from the pastoral excursions of library music to the soulful 1970s trajectory of jazz greats such as Lonnie Liston Smith and beyond.
