‘Under the Glass’ marks the Leeds outfit’s first new music in three years.

Drahla have returned from a lengthy period of hibernation with new music and touring plans in tow.
‘Under The Glass’ marks the West Yorkshire noise merchants’ first release in three years, following the successes of their widely praised debut album Useless Coordinates and rekindling a world of gnarled guitar, menacing saxophone skronk and spellbinding, cult-like vocal chants that previously garnered fandom in the likes of Robert Smith and Mike Sniper.
Drahla explain,
“‘Under the Glass’ represents a moment of creative reconnection, almost a sense of euphoria in the darkest moments – an awaited, yet slight, respite from reality.
The song is a collage, reworking early ideas from 2020 with newer work – bridging the gap of time, in the literal sense as well as musically. The lyrics are deliberately vague, using metaphor to interpret personal experience and emotion of loss and grief.”
Aligning with their return Drahla have also shared details of a short UK tour set to unfold in September. The run will take in six dates centring around a headlining appearance at London’s Bermondsey Social Club and see the group road-testing new material slated to appear on their forthcoming sophomore album.
