Living Sky lands on October 7th.

Sun Ra Arkestra have announced the release of a new album.
Living Sky was recorded at Rittenhouse SoundWorks in Philadelphia over the course of one day in June 2021 under the leadership of longtime bandleader and alto saxophonist Marshall Allen, taking in seven songs and creative contributions from nineteen musicians.
Aligning with the announcement, the enduring and formidable jazz troupe have shared their looming project’s first preview. ‘Somebody Else’s Idea’ was first tracked by the late Sun Ra and his otherworldly cohorts in 1955, and then again in 1970 ahead of being released as part of 1971’s My Brother The Wind, Vol II. Appearing in instrumental form for the first time, hear the group’s renewed take on ‘Somebody Else’s Idea’ in advance below.
