Shine arrives on July 22nd.

Sean Nicholas Savage has announced the release of a new album.
Shine is set for arrival on July 22nd through Savage’s longtime label Arbutus Records and will mark the prolific balladeer’s fifteenth full-length project. With initial inspiration drawn from the Mediterranean coastline views that coloured an extended stay on the Greek island of Crete, the album was subsequently recorded at the Los Angeles home of fellow Edmonton native Mac DeMarco who helms production duties throughout.
With Shine’s titular track arriving today, Savage explains
“It’s about the glimmering eye of a seagull eating trash, or a cat on the fire escape, from another being, in another world, that glimmer of hope, the glimmer of life.”
Remaining faithful to the intimate and minimalistic framework that Savage has proven to wear so well whilst leaning in to a renewed penchant for the accompaniment of acoustic guitars, hear ‘Shine’ below.
Beginning in May Sean Nicholas Savage will embark upon a European tour where he is set to road-test material from Shine with a live ensemble. Find tickets for the songwriter’s looming appearance at South London’s Peckham Audio here.
Shine releases on July 22nd Arbutus Records. Pre-order the album on blue vinyl here.
