The musician’s first solo works in twenty-three years will arrive in June.

Japanese composer and percussionist Midori Takada has revealed plans to release two new albums this June.
Cutting Branches For A Temporary Shelter and You Who Are Leaving To Nirvana will release through Geneva label WRWTFWW Records and mark Takada’s first new solo works in twenty-three years.
A press release notes the former project to comprise a rendition of “Nhemamusasa”, a traditional work emblematic of the musical repertoire for mbira of the Shona of Zimbabwe performed using a selection of instruments displayed at the MEG Museum, whilst the latter presents Takada in collaboration with the Samgha group of the Shingon school of Koya-san performing a suite of compositions centring around Buddhist liturgical chants.
