Ants From Up There releases on February 4th via Ninja Tune.

London’s Black Country, New Road have announced the release of their next album.
Ants From Up There is scheduled for release on February 4th and marks the hotly tipped band’s sophomore album following this year’s broadly praised and Mercury Prize-nominated For The First Time.
Recording sessions for the album took place during Summer with longtime engineer Sergio Maschetzko at the Isle Of Wight’s Chale Abbey Studios, capturing among its track list a number of songs that have existed in varying degrees of prominence within the septet’s live shows over the past two years and subsequently become keenly-awaited fan favourites (see ‘Snow Globes’ and ‘Basketball Shoes’).
Leading the album’s announcement ‘Chaos Space Marine’ premieres today, branded by singer and guitarist Isaac Wood as ‘the best song we’ve ever written’ in an accompanying statement. Propelled by instrumental lines and group vocals that conjure an air of exuberance and grandiose, the single alludes to a project departing from the sinister overtones that coursed through its predecessor in favour of more optimistic pastures.
Exploring new territory whilst retaining the palpable energy and hairpin turns that have become synonymous with the band, hear ‘Chaos Space Marine’ and view the album’s track list below.
