The Neo soul luminary will convene with presently unannounced friends on February 27th.
Neo soul luminary D’Angelo has been confirmed to feature in a forthcoming episode of popular webcast series Verzuz.
Set to unfold from within Harlem’s Apollo Theater, the looming episode looks geared to deviate from the show’s typical toe-to-toe and song-for-song format with the seldom seen musician instead slated to be joined at the famed music venue by a number of as-yet unannounced ‘friends’. Given the singer-songwriter’s sheer wealth of past collaborators – from hip-hop linchpins Lauryn Hill, GZA, Method Man and Redman to fellow Soulquarians Questlove, Q-Tip, Common, Erykah Badu and Bilal – no possible results seem likely to yield disappointment from viewers.
Verzuz is now in the midst of its second season with previous guests on the Timbaland and Swizz Beatz-fronted series including Brandy, Monica, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, RZA, DJ Premier, Snoop Dogg and DMX.
D’Angelo’s last full-length solo album Black Messiah arrived to acclaim in the final months of 2014. The ensuing years have seen D’Angelo resurface only on a fragmented basis to appear on releases from Rapsody and Slingbaum.

D’Angelo’s episode of Verzuz will stream live in HD from 5pm PT on February 27th/1am GMT on February 28th via Apple Music and the VerzuzTV Instagram account.
