New York-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist KeiyaA is the latest musician to perform for NPR Music’s famed Tiny Desk Concert series.

Situated within Brooklyn’s Electric Garden recording studio and with the accompaniment of a full live band, the burgeoning musician delivered a commanding set featuring several songs from her praised and promising 2020 debut album Forever, Ya Girl. The performance marks the sixth instalment in a series of concerts scheduled to take place throughout February in celebration of Black History Month. Other artists set to perform during the Washington-based media organisation’s month-long curation of events include 2 Chainz, Melanie Charles, Sampa The Great and Immanuel Wilkins.

A statement from producer Bobby Carter of NPR Music reads

“Black music has always had a home at the Tiny Desk. As the series developed, our wonderful producers brought more hip hop and R&B artists to the Desk and challenged them to play within the format. The innovative results resonated with audiences: it’s T-Pain minus auto-tune. It’s Gucci Mane with an upright piano. It’s Megan Thee Stallion with Phony Ppl. The month long celebration highlights the beautiful cornucopia of Black music and our special way of presenting it. We hope you enjoy.”
