London’s Alfa Mist has announced the release of a new album.
Marking a departure from Alfa’s longstanding DIY operations, Bring Backs will arrive through American record label Anti- where the talented, self-taught pianist and producer joins the likes of Busdriver, The Antlers and Tinariwen on a disparate roster of artists that fosters an aptitude for stylistic eclecticism befitting of his own deeply explorative music.
Elaborating on the looming project’s first preview Alfa states
“I used to think of making beats and playing with a band as separate worlds until I realised I was always trying to achieve the same thing. Making the music I want to make. With the song ‘Run Outs’ I’m bringing together the vibe of my earliest beats with where I’m at today.”
