Madlib and Karriem Riggins announce debut collaborative album as Jahari Massamba Unit

Hear a preview of the forthcoming project in advance.

Madlib and Karriem Riggins have revived Jahari Massamba Unit, announcing the forthcoming release of the collaborative affair’s debut album.

A formidable pairing of two longstanding, resolute forces within hip-hop and its many intersections with neighbouring genres, the seldom seen project has appeared on a fragmented basis for several loose tracks in the past, though its future has remained unclear.

Now reconvening to share details surrounding the long-awaited release of the project’s first full-length body of work, Madlib’s label elaborates “We would have called it Spiritual Jazz but Phil Ranelin told us to call it Black Classical Music.”

Entitled Pardon My French, the project is slated for release on November 27th as part of Black Friday proceedings with two confirmed and limited vinyl variants to choose from.
