Check in with Ben Gibbard and co. on October 7th.
Could American indie rock supergroup The Postal Service be awakening from their lengthy and torturous slumber?
The cross-country band comprising Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello and Jenny Lewis were met with unanimous praise following the release of their debut album Give Up through esteemed record label Sub Pop in 2003, before ultimately returning to their own respective projects in Death Cab For Cutie, Dntel and Rilo Kiley.
Briefly reuniting in 2013 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their sole LP, the band proceeded to embark upon an international touring schedule and reissue campaign before retreating once again in to a state of dormancy. One artefact that remained from The Postal Service’s reunion were social media accounts which have remained, you guessed it, largely inactive, until now.
Flickering back to life, The Postal Service have now shared a cryptic video trailer via Twitter that displays the message “your meeting will begin tomorrow” alongside a horn-led rendition of ‘Nothing Better’.
