Bradford Cox, Madlib, Standing On The Corner and more to play live streamed concerts for Oda speakers

Slated to unfold during Winter 2020 and Spring 2021.

Oda is a new boutique speaker system that will broadcast exclusive live streamed performances from a host of specially commissioned artists to your home on a seasonal basis.

Conjured from the imagination of Nick Dangerfield with early development stemming back to 2016, Oda was conceived with the idea of creating an intimate home-to-home live transmission for artists whilst capturing the listener’s undivided attention through non-tech looking, cherry wood speakers and full stereo sound that is often sacrificed on devices such as laptops.

“The artist sits down to play in their home or studio.

You nestle up to your Oda speakers.

The speakers come alive with resonant, spatial sound.

Every inhale, every beat, like the artist is right in front of you.

Music, as it should be.”

Oda’s visually unassuming square speaker systems – which also feature the facility for conventional usage via line-in and bluetooth – are available for pre-order now with pricing at $299. Those who purchase speakers are then given the option to subscribe to Oda’s membership plan priced at $79 per season, which grants access to an exclusive events programme featuring live transmissions of musical performances from an eclectic curation of artists.

Detailing how Oda’s pricing was chosen, the company elaborates

“Our speakers are as affordable as we can make them; we use memberships to pay our performers and to keep the lights on. We pay meaningful performance fees to give artists an opportunity to create something unique and stretch their creative limits. We don’t sell ads, we don’t sell your data, and our speakers don’t have microphones to listen to you.”

Among the slew of twenty-five artists confirmed to perform within the company’s looming debut seasons are Bradford Cox of Deerhunter and Atlas Sound fame, sequestered beatsmith Madlib, experimental jazz ensemble Standing On The Corner, gospel dignitary Pastor T.L. Barrett, multi-instrumentalist KeiyaA and multifaceted contemporary electronic musician Beatrice Dillon.
