The Parliament-Funkadelic and James Brown alumni’s latest arrives in October.

Funk veteran Bootsy Collins has revealed that he will release his guest-filled new album in October.
Entitled The Power Of The One, the imminently releasing album’s creative and recording processes were noted to be in full-flow when the current global pandemic drew the world to a halt in March. Continuing to pursue the album’s materialisation from his home-recording space dubbed ‘Boot-Cave Studios’, the Parliament-Funkadelic and James Brown alumni’s project eventually reached completion with some collaborators contributing to the project remotely. Among the album’s slew of guests are Bootsy’s onetime James Brown bandmate Christian McBride, Dr. Cornel West and celebrated rapper Snoop Dogg.
Discussing the album’s title Collins explains,
“The Power of the One is what pulls us through. Everyone has “The One” inside of them. You never know who is using you for guidance, so always be pure and never fake the funk. Everybody’s got a light. Everybody needs to shine. It’s there, we just have to trust and use the guidance that is within us, and know that The One knows your program. It was written inside your heart before you made that mad dash racing to be the first one to the egg! You are perfect in the eyes of The One.“

The Power Of The One releases on CD and digital formats on October 23rd via Bootzilla Records and Sweetwater Music. A vinyl release is scheduled to follow in December.
