Celebrated tenor saxophonist Nubya Garcia has announced the release of her debut solo album.
Having established a notable following through the release of two solo EPs and international touring schedules coinciding with her time in ensembles Nérija and Maisha, Garcia is now deservedly considered a formidable component within London’s vibrant jazz scene with her deft tenor work often sought for collaboration by contemporaries including Shabaka Hutchings and Makaya McCraven.
Entitled Source, Garcia’s debut album is scheduled to arrive in August through LA’s Concord Records and features contributions from a number of guests including Joe-Armon Jones and KOKOROKO’s Cassie Kinoshi, Sheila Maurice-Grey and Richie Seivwright.
