Bent Arcana’s debut album lands on August 21st through Castle Face Records.

Los Angeles garage rock guru John Dwyer has formed a new group named Bent Arcana.
Introducing the project this week Dwyer shares their eponymous debut album’s aptly titled opener ‘The Gate’, a heady, entrancing ten minute relay of improvisation and considered use of space.
Joining the Oh Sees frontman in Bent Arcana are Tom Dolas of Mr. Elevator, Peter Kerlin of Sunwatchers, Kyp Malone of TV On The Radio, Ryan Sawyer, Brad Caulkins, Marcos Rodriguez, Laena “Geronimo” Myers-Ionita, Joce Soubiran and Andres Renteria.
Speaking of the newly-formed group’s LP, Dwyer states
“Bent Arcana is the inceptive chapter in what I hope to be several releases showcasing these types of off-the-cuff musical compositions. So you can try your fry on and turn off. This one is very much on the ECM / 70s hard fusion / prog-kraut tip. It is a many pronged weapon, swung by the spontaneous sentinel.”
Hear ‘The Gate’ below.
Bent Arcana releases on August 21st via Castle Face Records. Pre-order the album here.
