As Tom Misch and Yussef Dayes continue to gear up for the imminent release of their collaborative album What Kinda Music the pair have revealed a new track entitled ‘Kyiv’.

Both rightfully regarded as pillars within London’s contemporary music community, their first joint venture has found a fitting home in the illustrious Blue Note Records, whose catalogue spans over fifty years of releases and comprises a wealth of albums from jazz’s most influential figures.

The latest preview of What Kinda Music sees Misch and Dayes partner once again with bassist guitarist – and son of famed session musician Pino Palladino, whose DNA serves as the rhythmic blueprint for releases by D’Angelo, Erykah Badu and Beck – Rocco Palladino.

Stemming from a spellbinding improvised chord progression, ‘Kyiv’ sees Palladino’s instrument provide a resolute framework for the nuanced embellishments of Misch and deft, fragmented chops of Dayes to flourish and experiment freely around.
