LA Priest makes his long-awaited return with sophomore LP GENE

Hear the understated funk of ‘What Moves’ preceding the album’s release.

Returning to the public eye following a lengthy period of absence, Late Of The Pier alumni Sam Eastgate has shared details of his sophomore album as LA Priest.

Lovingly named after the modular drum machine that Eastgate crafted in isolation as a remedy to the limitations presented by other commercially available electronic instruments, GENE arrives on April 24th courtesy of longtime label Domino Recording Company.

Communicating Eastgate’s vision of understated funk through squelching synthesizers, rhythmic guitar playing and contorted vocals, new single ‘What Moves’ serves as the first insight in to GENE and the musician’s creative process following the success of his well-received solo debut album Inji.
