John Frusciante rejoins Red Hot Chili Peppers

Frusciante previously resigned from his duties with the infamous funk band in 2009.

Today Red Hot Chili Peppers took to social media to share news that Josh Klinghoffer had made the decision to part ways with the band.
Klinghoffer originally became a full-time member of the infamous funk outfit in 2009, assuming lead guitar duties on the band’s albums I’m With You and The Getaway.

Within the same post, Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced that longtime member John Frusciante has rejoined the band. Throughout the 1990s Frusciante became a key component of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ sound, writing and performing on five of the band’s most popular albums including Mother’s Milk, Californication and By The Way.

Red Hot Chili Peppers also currently have two live shows listed within their tour schedule on May 15th at Gulf Shores, Alabama’s Hangout Festival and May 24th at the Boston Calling fest. These dates will presumably be the band’s first with Frusciante reassuming his original post.
