With modern space rock luminaries Moon Duo gearing up for the release of their seventh album Stars Are The Light, the Portland-based band have now revealed the project’s second single.

‘Lost Heads’ firmly distinguishes Moon Duo’s latest body of work from its predecessors by channeling a searing disco pulse at its core amid flourishes of the band’s more typical psychedelic tendencies. A seven minute voyage of languid guitars, breathy vocals, bubbling synths and hypnotic rhythm, hear ‘Lost Heads’ now.

Discussing the sonic development presented by the band in Stars Are The Light, keyboardist Sanae Yamada states

“Disco is dance music, first and foremost, and we were digging our way into the idea of this endless dance of bodies in nature. We were also very inspired by the space and community of a disco – a space of free self-expression through dance, fashion, and mode of being; where everyone was welcome, diversity was celebrated, and identity could be fluid; where the life force that animates each of us differently could flower.”

In support of their forthcoming album Moon Duo will tour internationally throughout October and November. View the band’s full UK tour itinerary below.
