The Grammy-nominated rapper’s Eve arrives in August.
North Carolina MC Rapsody has recruited GZA and neo-soul pioneer D’Angelo to appear in the first single from her forthcoming album Eve.
Titled ‘Ibtihaj’ in homage to American fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad, the new album cut breathes new life in to GZA’s classic 1995 solo single ‘Liquid Swords’ as D’Angelo delivers a heady and soulful rendition of the infamous chorus hook and the Wu-Tang Clan veteran deploys a new verse.

Eve marks the follow-up to Rapsody’s Grammy-nominated 2017 album Laila’s Wisdom and is said to pay tribute to a number of legendary black women including Aaliyah, Nina Simone, Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg.
Speaking on the project’s themes Rapsody states,
“The stories behind the songs on Eve are inspiring, and I wanted to do my part in celebrating these women in the best way I know how. I want to not only help tell these stories but help further each woman’s legacy and spark curiosity in people to learn more about them.”
Eve releases on August 23rd via Roc Nation.
