Enigmatic septet Black Country, New Road have returned with the follow-up to their celebrated January debut ‘Athen’s, France’.

Bearing a minimal online presence and just one prior release to date, the band’s expeditious rise to prominence is owed to the lasting impression firmly inscribed upon the inner eyelids of those lucky enough to bear witness to a slew of live performances in London and beyond over recent months.

Boundless and linear in structure and form, new single ‘Sunglasses’ aptly captures the essence of Black Country, New Road’s live set, casting a captivating gaze over the course of its eight minute running time through caustic lyricism, prickling distorted synths and the unmistakable, fractious squall of saxophonist Lewis Evans.

Tune in below.

A limited physical release of ‘Sunglasses’ is set to land on September 6th via Blank Editions. Pre-order one of 500 copies on 7″ vinyl whilst they’re ripe for the picking here.

As Black Country, New Road continue to pursue a busy touring schedule, upcoming dates include appearances at London’s Visions Festival, Birmingham weekender Future Days and a headline performance at Hebden Bridge Trades.
