As Freddie Gibbs and Madlib gear up for the release of their sophomore collaborative album Bandana, the duo have tapped multi-instrumentalist Anderson .Paak for the LP’s latest preview.

Named in reference to Milwaukee Bucks powerhouse Giannis Antetokounmpo, ‘Giannis’ employs drums that reach for the jugular, intricate wordplay, Madlib’s ever-tasteful ear for sample selection and a chorus of rich and soulful vocal harmonies that make for vibrant and nostalgic sounding results.

Listen to ‘Giannis’ below.

The long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s Piñata lands on June 28th and will see Gibbs and Madlib perform internationally in support of the release. Further guests to appear on Bandana include Pusha T, Yasiin Bey and Black Thought of The Roots.

Bandana releases on June 28th via Keep Cool/RCA Records.
