Vampire Weekend have shared two new singles from their imminently releasing and long-awaited fourth album Father Of The Bride.
Of the new tracks, the first, ‘Sunflower’ sees Vampire Weekend unite with multi-instrumentalist Steve Lacy of The Internet. Lacy is no stranger to collaboration, having contributed production and compositional chops to albums by Solange, Tyler, The Creator, Kendrick Lamar and Kali Uchis all whilst still under the age of 20.
‘Sunflower’ is as vitamin D-tinged as its name suggests as staccato guitar lines syncopate with jagged drums in Vampire Weekend’s now-signature Afrobeat-leaning style. Above, vocals from Lacy and Koenig linger in a fashion that’s as carefree as a Summer’s breeze.

Last month it was noted that Koenig and Lacy had been seen filming with actor and director Jonah Hill. The speculated project has since been confirmed to be a coinciding visual for the pair’s collaborative single.
Father Of The Bride releases via Columbia Records on May 3rd.
