Stream the fourth LP from Peter Sagar’s R&B lilted project.

Peter Sagar’s fourth album under the Homeshake moniker has arrived.
Helium presents a notable dynamic and textural shift for Sagar, owed largely to both a growing interest in the ambient realms of electronic music and a relocation in his base for recording. Where the Edmontonian crafted and recorded Helium‘s predecessors to tape in Montreal’s now defunct DIY space The Drones Club, he has since moved shop to the place in which he feels most comfortable and content; his Little Italy apartment.
From the warm glisten of a Juno 60 on album opener ‘Early’ to the understated pop refrain of ‘Nothing Could Be Better’, Helium distinguishes itself through sparse, thoughtful and less groove-oriented arrangements that induce a dream-like state. Meanwhile, Sagar’s signature gliding and sleepy falsetto serves as a conduit for lyricism that balances plaintiveness and a doe-eyed romanticism of the every day.
